Rocio Vega Spanish and English teacher

My name is Rocío Vega, and I am an English and Spanish teacher. I was born in Marbella, a coastal town in southern Spain. I studied Economics at the University of Málaga, and one day I decided to move to the United States.

I arrived in San Francisco, California with the intention of studying English for one year, but I ended up staying for eleven. During that time, I also studied Tourism at City College and completed an interpretation course that allowed me to volunteer at Latino family meetings in public schools across the city.

That experience marked the beginning of my vocation for teaching languages. After finishing my studies, I took a job as a receptionist at a Spanish school, where my interest in teaching continued to grow. I eventually decided to return to school and completed the Second Language Teaching Certificate at UNED (the National University of Distance Education), which led me to become a Spanish teacher.

When I returned to Spain, finding work wasn’t easy at first, but after a while I was able to start teaching private lessons. As I noticed a growing demand for English classes, I obtained the CELTA certificate (the University of Cambridge’s qualification for English teachers). At the moment, I am teaching Spanish.

For years, I have been passionately teaching languages to both locals and foreigners. My mission is to make learning a language fun, practical, and useful for real life—whether it’s for traveling, working, studying, or simply enjoying the ability to communicate with people from around the world.

I offer in-person and online classes, tailored to all levels: from beginners who want to learn Spanish or English from scratch to advanced students looking to perfect their fluency and speak confidently. My courses are designed not only to teach grammar and vocabulary but also to practice conversation, listening comprehension, and writing in a dynamic and engaging way.

What I love most about teaching is seeing my students improve day by day. Everyone learns differently, so I customize my classes according to your needs and goals. For example, if you are a foreigner wanting to learn Spanish, we can focus on everyday situations, cultural expressions, and practical vocabulary. If you are a local wanting to improve your English, we can practice real-life conversations—from work meetings to casual chats with friends or travel scenarios.

In addition to regular classes, I offer online Spanish and English courses for all levels. This allows students from anywhere in the world to learn from home, with flexible schedules and interactive content. My online courses combine theory and practice, with conversation activities, writing exercises, and listening drills that help you gain confidence in using the language. I also offer specialized conversation courses, designed for students who already have knowledge but want to improve their fluency and speaking skills in Spanish or English.

I firmly believe that learning a language is much more than memorizing grammar rules. It’s about connecting with people, discovering new cultures, and opening yourself to different perspectives. That’s why my classes always include cultural elements: typical expressions, idioms, customs, and real-life communication. This makes learning more fun and ensures that students feel truly prepared to use the language in everyday situations.

The best part of my job is seeing students overcome their fears and start communicating confidently. I love it when someone who initially doubted their abilities begins to speak fluently, participate in conversations, and enjoy the learning process. That is the true reward of teaching languages.

If you want to learn Spanish or English, improve your conversational fluency, or take online classes tailored to your level, you’ve come to the right place. Whether you prefer in-person lessons, an online course, or conversation sessions, I am here to help you achieve your goals and make learning a language an enjoyable and effective experience.

With me, learning Spanish or English won’t just be possible—it will be exciting and enriching. I can’t wait to see you in class!
